fishy business

Jason went to a few fishing trips with his friends during this semester break.
Brought heaps of fish back for dinner.

Brims...

They are now in our tummy...or the sewage system LOL

Flathead that Jason caught.

The white and red thing beside its mouth is a lure.

Just the day before yesterday,

Jason brought back a grouper from his fishing trip.

And it was still alive...and jumping.

Did not take a photo of it.

We placed the grouper in the fridge for a day so that it'll be easier to scale it.

So, we invited Jason's friends over for dinner yesterday,

prepared the steamed fish, fried chicken wings, veg and all.

(all by myself!!! *a pat on my back*)

The fish was delicious!!!

Nice and sweet and firm and fresh!!

HHhmmmm....yumyum

my first steam fish in brizzie.

Lazy to take pictures again :p

..................................................................................

On another note,

the flowers that leaves the air smelling oh-so-nice.

There're pink flowers that looked like tiger lilies too.

Once again,

lazy to photograph them...

hehehe

Hot Spring

It's the beginning of Spring,
well,
25days into Spring to be exact and the weather is suppose to be perfect.
It should be nice and cooling with beautiful flowers blooming everywhere.
Yes,
the sky is beautiful and blue with no clouds at sight,
the trees are cover in gorgous flowers in all sorts of colour,
freshening the air with a hint of flora fragrance.
hhhmmmm....
But why is the temperature at a freaking 30 degrees now?!?!?
arrgghhhh
It's ssooo hot!!
It should be cooling!!!!!!!
At this time of the year,
i'm glad that our apartment isn't made of bricks,
(which i otherwise curse and whinge about it during winter)
as our living room is always cooler than the outside regardless of the weather.
But it'll be perfect if our place is air-conditioned.
I can't image how hot it'll get in mid summer.
The record high for Australia is 42-45 degrees if i remember correctly.
I'll melt like a piece of butter on a hot pan seriously.
Poor Jason...
he'll be staying back for summer course.

Semester Break

Today marks the first day of my 'semester break'.
I wonder why they call it 'semester BREAK' when heaps of assignments and presentations are due when school reopens?
I call it the
'timetohunchovermylaptoptocatchupwiththeinsane
assignmentsthatseemtohavenoend' week.
I'm drained and totally burned out.
What's worse,
my face is having a breakout party.
yayyy....
now i feel even worse.
Ugly, fragile, frayed and exhausted...

they are quite true!!!

FREEBIES!!!!

*I'm typing all this out the second time,
all my info mysteriously disappeared after i tried to highlight the whole blog entry...arrrggghhhh*

Anyway, here goes...

I left my mobile at home today and only realised it just before getting out of Jason's car.
So i told him we'll meet up at the carpark around 430pm.
But I was late.
I reach the carpark around 5pm and Jason wasn't there.
(I was late because of this lady who keep talking non-stop to the lecture when me and my group mates are obviously waiting to talk to the lecturer *roll eyes*)
I panicked without seeing Jason thinking he must be worried after waiting for so long and drove off looking for me.
(because we received an email from QUT security about this men assaulting a female in broad daylight, somewhere near QUT yesterday.)
But after a while he turned into the carpark.
He explained to me that he thought i got angry for waiting for him and walked home myself.
(because he was late for 15minutes)
So he drove around and even went home looking for me
*faint*
Since when did i get angry with him for being a few minutes late!?!?
*knock his egg head*

But most importantly,
he bought me a cheese cake!!!!!
awww...so sweet...!!!

He put the box containing the cheese cake under his bag,

that's why it looked kind of messy.

*knock his egg head x 2*

LOL

After Jason picked me up,

we went groceries shopping at Coles.

I decided to spoilt myself a little and bought a magazine,

but i was pleasantly surprised!!

There's a free goodie bag for every purchase of Marie Claire!!

WOOHOO!!!

It was well worth the money i spend on the magazine ($7.95)

Here's what in the goodie bag.

Missing from this lot is a big bag of chicken flavoured corn chips

(Jason's eating them...).

The Oral-B's toothbrush alone costs more than the mag!!!

YAY

*!!!HAPPY!!!*

We murdered a fish in our house...

It's been a while since Jason fish.
Today, he and two of his friends rented a boat for their fishing trip,
and he brought back a big flathead.
I can't stand flatheads...
they are ssooo fugly and very hard to fillet
(due to their super tough skin + our lack of skill and proper equipment).

I told you its ugly...

They call it the lizard fish.

Personally,

I think lizards are much better looking than flatheads.

This is the second time Jason brought back a flathead.

Its taste: so-so only

But Australians love flatheads.

It's a rather expensive fish here...

I seriously don't know why.

Jason preparing to fillet it.

After taking this photo,

Jason: OMG I think it's still alive!!

Me: !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jason: Look at the gills. It's moving.

Me: *looking closely at the gills, it moved then i ran away...*

Jason: -_-"

They're damn strong,

it's been out of water for hours but still alive.

Jason tried to kill it with the knife because his donger is in the car.

But it's head it way too hard and he announced its time of death after a good 5 minutes later.

Tiny drops of blood splashing everywhere

(which i have to clean up :(...)

All these while,

i was hiding in the room.

I don't dare to look :p

Felt really really bad

(yes yes i know i know. I still eat fish no matter who kills it so what's the difference)

But i can't help feeling bad and sad :(

Tried to console myself,

*it's free and it's fresh...it's free and it's fresh...*

After all the fuss and muss,

here's the end result.

First a dog, now a magpie...

Last week,
i mentioned about this dog wanting a share of my breakfast and lunch.
This week,
It was a magpie...
-_-"
I was there,
around the same area,
happily eating my breakfast while reading a book,
when this magpie flew down and stood right in front of me.
(not more than 30cm away)
I was sitting on a lower step and the magpie on a high one,
hence we staring at each other right in the eye.
I tried to shoo it away but it was bold and stood firm while staring at me.
-_-""
I was afraid it might be as agressive as a crow
(crows here are HUGE as i've mentioned before)
but i fed it anyway.
A few times actually LOL.
Luckily it didn't call out for it's mates to join in.
It'll be damn scary...
(I've tried feeding a seagull before and it went to gather every seagulls and every other other bird available to join it.
Scary...)

Do i have a feelfreetoaskmeforfood face or what???

He was at an expedition, out on the Great Barrier Reef,

Handwriting Analysis

Got it done here
It was hilarious. Some's quite true,
while the others are the exact opposite.
And my 'y' says so much about me eh???

For a graphologist, the spacing on the page reflects the writer's attitude toward their own world and relationship to things in his or her own space. If the inputted data was correct Liwan has left lots of white space on the all four borders of the paper. Liwan fills up just the center area of the page. If this is true, then Liwan has a particular shyness toward people and a fear of moving too fast in any direction. In some cultures, respecting people, rules, and adhering to protocol are ways of life. The right side of the page represents the future and the left side represents the past. Liwan seems a bit stuck in the middle, afraid to take action. Liwan seems to have a fear of looking bad or of crossing boundries. It will be easy to work with Liwan on a team, because Liwan will usually follow the rules. However, this desire to respect the boundries can often be construed as a lack of confidence and people will walk over Liwan if she is not careful.

Something is incomplete in Liwan's life. She feels frustration relating to her physical needs and desires. Somewhere in her life there is some disappointment, non-fulfillment, and interruption. This is very likely to relate to Liwan's sexual needs.

Liwan has a tendency to put things off, Liwan procrastinates. She sometimes pretends to be busy, so she will not have to do whatever she is putting off. She is often late to appointments or deadlines. This usually leads to a great amount of effort at the last minute to meet the deadline. Procrastination is an important factor as it relates to her output on the job or at school. Remember, Liwan will put it off until later. Procrastination is easily overcome through a simple stroke adjustment in the handwriting.

Liwan is a practical person whose goals are planned, practical, and down to earth. This is typical of people with normal healthy self-esteem. She needs to visualize the end of a project before she starts. she finds joy in anticipation and planning. Notice that I said she plans everything she is going to do, that doesn't necessarily mean things go as planned. Liwan basically feels good about herself. She has a positive self-esteem which contributes to her success. She feels she has the ability to achieve anything she sets her mind to. However, she sets her goals using practicality-- not too "out of reach". She has enough self-confidence to leave a bad situation, yet, she will not take great risks, as they relate to her goals. A good esteem is one key to a happy life. Although there is room for improvement in the confidence catagery, her self-perception is better than average.

In reference to Liwan's mental abilities, she has a very investigating and creating mind. She investigates projects rapidly because she is curious about many things. She gets involved in many projects that seem good at the beginning, but she soon must slow down and look at all the angles. She probably gets too many things going at once. When Liwan slows down, then she becomes more creative than before. Since it takes time to be creative, she must slow down to do it. She then decides what projects she has time to finish. Thus she finishes at a slower pace than when she started the project. She has the best of two kinds of minds. One is the quick investigating mind. The other is the creative mind. Her mind thinks quick and rapidly in the investigative mode. She can learn quicker, investigate more, and think faster. Liwan can then switch into her low gear. When she is in the slower mode, she can be creative, remember longer and stack facts in a logical manner. She is more logical this way and can climb mental mountains with a much better grip.

Liwan will be candid and direct when expressing her opinion. She will tell them what she thinks if they ask for it, whether they like it or not. So, if they don't really want her opinion, don't ask for it!

Liwan uses judgment to make decisions. She is ruled by her head, not her heart. She is a cool, collected person who is usually unexpressive emotionally. Some may see her as unemotional. She does have emotions but has no need to express them. She is withdrawn into herself and enjoys being alone. The circumstances when Liwan does express emotions include: extreme anger, extreme passion, and tremendous stress. If someone gets her mad enough to tell her off, she will not be sorry about it later. She puts a mark in her mind when someone angers her. She keeps track of these marks and when she hits that last mark she will let them know they have gone too far. She is ruled somewhat by self-interest. All her conclusions are made without outside emotional influence. She is very level-headed and will remain calm in an emergency situation. In a situation where other people might get hysterical, she has poise. Liwan will work more efficiently if given space and time to be alone. She would rather not be surrounded by people constantly. In a relationship, she will show her love by the things she does rather than by the things she says. Saying "I love you" is not a needed routine because she feels her mate should already know. The only exception to this is if she has logically concluded that it is best for her mate to hear her express her love verbally. Liwan is not subject to emotional appeals. If someone is selling a product to her, they will need to present only the facts. They should present them from a standpoint of her sound judgment. She will not be taken in by an emotional story about someone else. She will meet emergencies without getting hysterical and she will always ask "Is this best for me?"

People that write their letters in an average height and average size are moderate in their ability to interact socially. According to the data input, Liwan doesn't write too large or too small, indicating a balanced ability to be social and interact with others.

RiverFire Festival

Today is Brisbane's annual celebration of the Riverfire Festival.
A number of roads and bridges will be closed just for this event.
The main part of this festival is the beautiful beautiful fireworks across the whole of brisbane river.
Elodie asked me to go last year but i didn't (forgot why...)
This year,
another friend of mine invited me to her apartment to watch the fireworks and steamboat dinner as she lives just by the river,
but i turned her down because me and Jason will be joining Augustine and Yuri
(and Yuri's here for only a few more days).
Then Augustine claimed that the fireworks lasts till 11pm so we'll take our dinner before heading there.
BUTTTT...
THE FIREWORKS STARTS AT 7PM AND END AT 730PM!!!
I only realised that when they had a live broadcast on TV.
arrggghhh!!!
so i ended up watching the fireworks at home on TV...
Oh well, there's always next year.
