The freezer is back to normal

After all the curses,
throwing away of meat and ice-cream,
reporting it to our property manager and
the property manager informing our landlord etc,
the freezer decided to start working...

freeze

There's something wrong with the fridge.
The freezer to be exact.
My new tub of vanilla ice-cream looked like...well...inedible.
Last year was the washing machine,
now the fridge...
How unluckily can we get.

We rented an unfurnished apartment.
So everything in this house belongs to us,
other than the washing machine, fridge and dryer.
(which wasn't supposed to be there, other than the dryer)
Jason used to have a relatively new fridge and washing machine.
But he had to sell them as the previous 'property manager' was too lazy to remove the original.

Now I've to finish cooking whatever's in the freezer asap.

My ice-cream...*sob*...

Migraine

Damn...
Migraine attacks again.
I blame it on the changes in weather.

This happened last year as well.
I remember having bad migraine attacks,
once every week,
for 3 weeks when i first reach Brizzie.
Nausea, vomiting, and sensitivity to light and noise is what I experienced.
So you can imagine how painful it can get.

Panadol is totally useless and I don't have any migraine pills.
Luckily, it doesn't hurt that bad this time round.

Day 3...

Exactly one more week before school reopens (for me).

*SIGHS*

..........................................................................................................

Day1:

We finally cleaned our house and we did it all on the day we reach brizzie.
It wasn't that bad.
Just dusty...
It's not like last year.

I had a bad experience last year.
When i first stepped into our house,
there was this stench,
due to the damp carpet, which covers almost all the house.
The damp carpet was inturn caused by the leaking washing machine...

I had a hard time cleaning up the whole house and it took weeks for the stench to go away.

Day2:

Our house is practically empty,
so we spent almost $200 on groceries yesterday!!
But its all on essential stuffs.
There's still more to go.

Oh, we bought some 2nd-hand textbooks yesterday too.
I managed to find two books,
but can't find the last and most expensive book which costs $90 for a brand new book... :(

Day3:

Here I am...blogging hehehe
and taking a super late brunch

Want some? (cereal with peaches...healthy)

Woohoo...no more naggings for waking up late and eating late kekeke

BBQ

I was so busy the whole day...
company my parents out since morning to check-up, pray, buy ginseng etc.
Then i took a shower and rush out of the house to take the otah from Angel,
and took a cab home (heart pain...).
But only to realise that the otahs had turned sour when i bbq them later.
Haiz...spent so much money on the cab fare just for the otah but spoilt...sianz.

I just got back from the bbq.
I'm quite tired from the long day out,
but I enjoyed myself tremendously!!!
The wonderful food prepared by Jason's friends,
together with those juicy gossips and laughter with the girls made the night really fun.

Mingyue and Yating was so kind and thoughful.
They surprised me with a gift!!
I was like..."Huh? A gift?? For me???"
I was happy and touched that they organised this bbq for me and Jason,
and I only knew them when I came back couple of months ago!!
So I totally wasn't expecting the gift.
!!!!!!Thank you!!!!!!

Jason went,
"Hey, why don't I get a gift too?"
And so I replied,
"Because you got a 'kukujiao'..."

Going back...

I'll be on the plane in a week's time.
It felt like i just got back last week.
I don't feel like going back but yet i want to go back.
I'm contradicting myself.

Why i don't feel like going back:

Why I want to go back:

Haiz...hopefully I can get my textbooks in Singapore.

Its soo much cheaper here.

Will try places like SIM, SMU, NUS, NTU etc.

I tried searching my texts at Clementi Bookshop(specialise in selling Uni textbooks) and all major book shops like Kinokuniya and Borders...

That was a vain attempt for me.

Luckily Jason managed to get 2 of his textbooks at less than 1/3 of the selling price in brizzie.

Hope I can find my texts within these few days.

I'm crossing my fingers...and toes

2004 Brisbane Trip

HeeHee

I found a cd containing photos of my trip (with Jason's parents) to Brisbane.

We went up to this place with breath-taking sceneries...

We went to Sea World too!!

It was so expensive...AU$59 per entry i think.

I want to go to the Movie World if i get the chance.

Me and Jason tried the roller coaster too.

I can't see much as I removed my specs(I'm afraid I'll lose it during the ride)

and wasn't wearing contacts either.

But it was fun still.

The shows...

Isn't this gorgeous...

At the beach...

Cold wind, soft warm sand, perfect weather.

The last pic (candid) was taken my Jason's dad...love it...

Pet Shop II

This is the follow up story on the pet shop located in Clementi Central...

The lady who served me (the one that sold me the wrong dog food)
called me up on Monday.
She claimed that she just realised that all 7.5kg of ANF dog food,
regardless of flavour,
come in big bite sizes.
So I'll have to settle for two small 3kg of dog food (If i don't want to top up money).

I rushed down immediately to give her a piece of my mind.
When she saw me, she said:
"Oh LIWEN (my name is liwan FYI),
so how, what you want? So how?"

And so i told her off,
"You kept me waiting for 2 weeks and spent so much time, energy and money
AND now u tell me this!!"

She started pushing the blame to the manufacturer,
saying that they did not inform them about this info.

Oh yes,
she did say sorry BUT in a very insincere way,
"Sorry lor"
She seriously needs to attend courses on HR in business.

Following the blame on the manufacturer,
she said:
"but anyone should know about this and people who buy such a big pack of food,
are people with big dogs.
Who would expect people with small dogs to buy 7.5kg of food?

I've never encountered such problems before.
You're are the first customer to complain about this
so only now that I’m aware of this bite size thingy."

(How ironic, not only is she contradicting herself badly,
She's also pushing the blame to everyone, even me!?!?!
Hello...you're the one doing business not me!
Go learn and familiarise with all your products before you start a business lady!)

She continued:
"I've been trying to compromise with you.
So its either you take two 3kg bags or I'll refund you."

I really felt like slapping her.
WHY wasn't I given the 'refund' option on my earlier visits??
You call that compromising???
I bought 7.5kg of dog food in total and now I’ll only get back 6kg?!?!
I don't give a damn whether smaller packaging are more expensive or not.

I PAID THIS AMOUNT FOR 7.5KG WORTH OF FOOD,
I'LL GET BACK MY 7.5KG NOT 6KG.

She just keeps standing there saying she cannot do it,
smaller packs are more expensive blahblahblah...
What a retard.

I told her I wanted a refund and her face changed drastically.
She said OK and proceeds to do the refund procedure.
Obviously she wasn't happy that I wanted the refund.
After all, I opened a 7.5kg of food and returned them.
But then who're going to pay me for taxi, mrt and bus trips' fare just for the dog food due to their stupidity??

Everyone out there who's reading this.
Don't patronise this pet shop!!
I'm boycotting it for sure.
And i'm going to see how long can they last with their pathetic sense of business
and lack of knowledge for their own products.

Broke!!!

I'm so BROKE!!!!
I couldn't remember the last time i got so broke.
This is pathetic...

I wanted to go shopping today but decided against it.
Even with all the ang baos,
I'm still broke.
*BAWL*
Yet i can only get my salary after I've gone back to aussie land.
*DOUBLE BAWL*

I'd spent so much money in Singapore.
And i still need to buy my textbooks, dentist, contact lenses, hp bills etcetc
Not forgetting gatherings with friends,
which i still got quite a few to attend before i go back...

Anyone feel charitable enough to donate to me?

Gathering

YAY!!!
Yesterday was my last day of work!!!
WOOHOO!!!

And went for a mini class gathering at night.
We wanted to go to the crab place at ang mo kio but it was so crowded.
So we went to Jack's Place instead.

On the way to Jack's Place,
Chris was fooling around so he 'high-beamed' and overtook Kev's car.
Then Kev tried to catch up with Chris but he couldn't stop his car in time and
*BANG*
He accidentally banged into Chris's car when Chris slowed down to turn into the car park.

Luckily Chris stepped on his brakes before kev hit us
(coz chris foresees the crash as kev was going at a high speed)
else Alex's car, which is in front of us will be another victim.
LOL

*aiyo laoda...ni lai ni lai*

Chris's car wasn't a big problem but it was Kev's car.
Poor lao da WAHAHAHAHA

see lar! play somemore lar!!!

Anyway,
we waited for andrew for ages before he arrives

Jean and me
(The Roses)

Teck Khim, Alex, Andrew, Chris and Kevin aka Lao Da (private joke HEHEHE)

(The Thorns aka The Clowns)

Alex simply loves to move around when he's taking photos.

That explains the blurred face.

Here's the consolidated photos

Had loads of fun and laughter during the dinner.

We ought to do this more often...

Too bad Hermes and Waiwah couldn't join us...

Pics taken at Jean's place on ChuSan.
Not much taken coz everyone was busy gambling LOL

I looked like a hamburger in those pics.
*YUCKS*

All of us 'lao yu shen',
expect for cheeboon.
He literally throws the yu sheng...

Andy was late,
so he's not in the pic.
Therefore, no yummy raw salmon for him too!

Many thanks to Jean and hubby,
for the lovely gathering and food!!
HUGZ!!!

Year of the Dog

This is the Year of the Dog,
a year that "belongs" to me and my baby.

I received an sms from Waiwah the other day,
it goes like this:

"Fortune for people born in year of dog, 1982.
You are likely to encounter problems in handling your human relationships.
Do not lose your books but control your outburst to handle all kinds of dispute.
This way things will work out finely and smoothly for you."

It's kind of general LOL
Who wouldn't encounter HR problems in their lives?
And if you encounter them, how are you going to handle them?
Calmly of course!!!

Waiwah, don't be fooled by this sms.
Don't worry ok.
Everything will be alright!!!

Dogs rulez!!!
WHAHAHAHAHAHA

Quotes

I got some interesting quotes to share with you guys,
courtesy of Sally's office cabinet hehehe

They can be applied to our daily lives.
So take a moment and think about it...

Here are some of my favourites:

"A person who is nice to you but rude to the waiter -- or to others -- is not a nice person."
(This rule never fails)

"Look for what is missing.
Many know how to improve what's there;
few can see what isn't there."

"You remember 1/3 of what you read,
1/2 of what people tell you,
100 percent of what you feel."

"Learn to say 'I don't know'.
If used when appropriate, it will be used often."
(Confident people know their strengths and weakness,
and they don't try to b.s. you.
You are not expected to know the answer to everything.
Smart people simply say 'I don't know' -- and go get an answer.)

"You can't polish a sneaker."
(The point is that even if you polish a hollow shell,
it's still nothing more than a hollow shell.
Heany on style but short on substance.
It's a polite way of saying you haven't start out with anything meaningful.)

?!?!?!

Geez...
Why do time flies at the speed of light when it comes to holidays?
Back to reality...i've got to work tomorrow!!!!
AARRRGGGHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've enjoyed myself during the holidays,
reunion dinner at home on ChuXi,
mahjong at home(i lost to three players..sianz) then dinner at Jason's place on ChuYi,
stayed at home and rot on ChuEr,
gathering at Jean's place and gambled on ChuSan
(managed to win back what i'd lost on ChuYi...YAY!!)
Haven't got the pics.
Will post once Jean emails me those pics.

I've been so lazy to go out to PaiNian.
Stayed at home throughtout those few days,
other than my grandma's place (which is only next door)
and Jason's place.

I didn't even bother to calculate the amount of AngBaos I've collected,
not to mention and amount ($) I've collected.
To me,
it's more like a time for a family gathering rather than money collecting.
I even feel somewhat embarrassed to receive angbaos now.
KEKEKE
*blush*

Luckily I'm still studying,
else i'll be bombarded with questions like,
"So when's your big day?"
"Don't forget to invite us to your wedding!"
"When's your turn to tie the knot?"

........................................................................................

We watched Fearless on ChuYi with Jason's friends.

It's not too bad.

I was smitten by his gongfu LOL

I love his 'Wong Fei Hong' movies too!!

But i'm not too big a fan of his english movies though.

This movie is claimed to be his last action/gongfu movie.

Go watch it.
