Carseldine Campus
Another busy Wednesday...

Just some random and totally not scenic shots (on my way to school)...
In school at last!!
This is the courtyard of QUT Carseldine Campus,
the smallest campus among the three.
This morning, i was sitting on one of those sitting blocks as seen above,
eating my breakfast while reading some stuff,
and out of nowhere came this big black dog...
(People here tend to allow their dog roam around anytime of the day)
That dog jumped onto the sitting block i'm on and tried to snatch my bread away from me!!!
(It was really tame and friendly though)
I was trying my best to save the bread i held in my hand and after a while it went away.
But shortly after,
it came back targeting at the other half of breakfast and my lunch which i packed in aluminium foil.
Saliva dripping everywhere and it even nibbled on the foil until there are holes.
GGgggrrrr...
there goes my breakfast and lunch.
I decided to feed it since my bread(s) are soiled but someone came and brought it away.
Haizz...
Have to throw my bread away.
I guess the possums are going to have a good feast tonight,
while i starve...

My wisdom...tooth
"Your wisdom tooth is growing out really nicely."
said Jason.
"I don't think u'll even need to remove it."
But why do i keep biting myself?
I bit myself so many times that I'm having this huge huge ulcer for many days already.
Now i eat with extreme caution.
Every chew and every bite may result in agony if i'm not careful.
I've boiled and taken barley drink (tip from Doreen)
and cooling herbal tea too.
Hope the ulcer will heal soon.

I'm sure most of you have recently heard that the 'murderer' confessed to the crime.
Somehow, I feel that he may not be the one.
Anyway, let's wait for the DNA results to be out.
Oh, there's even a myspace created in memory of JonBenet.
They even have the actual ransom note there.
This aroused my curiousity and interest in the notorious murders.
There's heaps of interesting true stories of different crimes all around the world.

Acute Lazytoblogiaitis
I'm suffering from 'Acute Lazytoblogiaitis'.
So i'll use clips in replacement.
Not sure if you guys have seen this clip.
It is about this artist - Ahree Lee who began taking daily digital snapshots of her own face;
for three years and complied them.
Each second of screen time represents about one week's worth of pictures.
It's something really simple and original.
But it kind of freaks me out...
On the other hand,
I love this clip!!!
I watched it over and over again for like 7-8 times in a row.

Sore Throat... :(...again
Waking up to a sore throat isn't the best thing to happen.
I've been taking my vitamins regularly,
and i've been trying to drink lots of water too.
I haven't been eating any oily, heaty, deep-fried food,
(maybe a little buscuits here and there)
so whywhywhy...
It's approaching spring,
so it better not be the beginning of hay fever.
*crossing my fingers and toes*
can't afford to fall sick half way through my semester.
Oh,
and my stupid wisdom tooth.
It's been growing so ever slowly.
And now it feels weird.
I'm not use to it at all.
I can feel it against my gum and cheek.
Or maybe i'm being overly sensitive...

On the other hand,
i'm taking 'Women's Health' this semester,
and part of the assignment is for me and my group partners to do 25hours of volunteer work anywhere as long as we can make a contribution to women's health.
Why do we have to do volunteer work?
Because of our stupid school slogan -
"QUT, University for the real world"
But i think its going to be fun nontheless.
This unit is by far first and only unit where i get to group up with a bunch of asians
(although none of them are from my course,
did i ever mention that i believe i'm the one and only international asian student in my course?
Other than Juliao who is from East Timor that is...)
heehee
In addition,
I've another unit that requires us to promote health.
We have to draw up the whole promoting strategies, hypothesis etcetc
and yes...
we have to go out to promote health literally.
and we're going to do -
Mental health and Stress among University students.
Every 1 in 5 will experience mental illness.
hhmmm...makes me wonder when i look at myself and people i know...
......hhmmmmm......

Ekka holiday!!!
In Brizzie,
people are given a day off just to go to amusement park.
An event that occurs yearly...
I've never being there before.
I know i should go there at least once but it's just too expensive,
and i don't really like overly crowded places.
I still remember the time when i went to celebrate the Millenium (2000) with Sally and her sister.
We went to Suntec and the crowd was terrible!
I was so small that i'm afraid i'll be swallowed by the crowded.
*hehehe*
I have to keep holding on to Sally's hand
LOL
Not forgetting,
It's a great time for guys to get away with molesting.
And maybe thief...
Still,
it's Ekka holiday tomorrow!!!

No need to wake up early to catch the shuttle bus to school.

8 bananas or 1 papaya...
We were changing our diet to a healthy one.
More fruits and vegetables.
We decided to buy papaya (its called pawpaw in Aussieland) and some bananas.
Its been a long long time since we eat those tropical fruit.
We know it's not cheap.
But we bought it nontheless.
When we were paying for them,
i nearly faint when i saw the price after they weigh the bananas and papaya...
Compare the size to the garlic.
Make a guess how much we paid for that papaya.
We bought about 8 bananas.
Guess how much those 8 bananas cost...

I did not manage to catch the online webcast of the parade yesterday as we are out at Augustine's place fixing his internet thingy.
I'll try to watch it on the 'video on demand' tonight.
Jason always ask me,
"Do you prefer Singapore or Australia?"
Haiz...
I like Australia's high paying jobs, cheap cars and houses, laidback lifestyle, weather and scenery.
Singapore is way too competitive.
Cars and houses are so bloody expensive,
pathetic pay,
(to earn $6-$7 per hour for a part-time job in Singapore is considered good,
but earning $6-$7 in Australia is unheard of.)
the weather is hot and humid all throughout the year,
i can only see buildings, buildings and buildings everywhere
and everyone works too hard everyday.
(in Aussieland, if you're still at work by 5pm, your boss will ask why are you still working.
In Singapore, if you go home at 5pm, your boss will ask why you're going home.)
*Sighz*
But...
Singapore, the dot on the map,
is still my country,
my homeland.
There's still tons of things i like there.
The 24hrs coffeeshops, midnight movies, late shopping hours, ease of transport, the yummy yummy food, not being treated like a deviant etc.
Oh,
not forgetting that all my family and friends are there.

I tried to go to the webcast to watch the parade but somehow i can't.
I wondered why...
Then Waiwah msn me.
I was really surprise to see him online and i said,
"Hey!!! How come you're home???"
(he's involved in the parade)
he replied,
"Diao...its tomolo....*_*"
*faints*
I thought its 9th August today.
No wonder i can't watch the parade online...
Now you see how stress can affect your day to day activities...

Superstition...
I was talking to my mum a couple of days ago.
She said,"After everyone heard of your good results this semester,
they rushed off to buy that jade thing i gave you to hang on your mobile!"
This is what she's talking about...
If i did badly,
It'll be deemed as my fault for not studying hard enough.
I did well last sem,
and all the credit went to that 'thing'!!!
What the...?!?!?
Excuse me...i worked hard for those results.
She also said my younger brother broke his,
that's why he did not do quite as well.
Sigh...
all those superstitions...

Possums..
Jason and I were walking to the carpark after his class today,
and we went through the park as a shortcut.
Then i caught a glimpse of a possum on the grass.
I started to make some sound to attract it's attention.
I was expecting it to run away,
(all the possums i've come across so far will keep a distance away from human)
but it walked towards me!!
So cute!!!!
It sniffed at our toes and looked at us with its round innocent eyes.
Awww...
Then out of nowhere,
came another possum, a bigger one, sitting right beside us,
in a position like the 'lucky cat'
(the cat ornament with one paw up)
AAWWWWW.......
It looked at us as if asking us for food.
The bigger one then stood up and put it's paws on my leg once i opened my bag
(the way dogs do usually)
and i fed them my muesli bar.
The bigger possum took its share of the muesli bar and ran off,
but the small one was much cuter.
It took the food gently and nimble right in front of me.
ARRGGGHHHH!!!!
I've always wanted to take a photo of a possum.
But i always don't have the camera with me when i see one.

They're like the combination of squirrels and ferrets.

I hate WEDNESDAYSSSS...
Have i ever mention that i hate Wednesdays?
hatehatehatehate Wednesday...
and i'm going to hate it for the next 2 1/2 months.
Every Wednesday,
I have a 9am class at Carseldine Campus,
and it takes about 25-30minutes of bus ride to get there.
The stupid shuttle bus comes every hourly,
and the bus that i need to catch reaches ard 7.45am.
Hence i'll reach Carseldine Campus damn early.
Why can't they have more frequent bus services???
After that stupid 3hour class,
i only have an 20minutes break and i'll have to rush to catch the shuttle bus back to Kelvin Grove Campus to have another 3hour class.
For the past two Wednesdays,
Jason has been really sweet.
He woke up early just to send me to class.
But today I decided to go to class myself,
and i miss the bus!!!!!!!
:(
It was freezing cold...bloody 6 degree celsius to be exact.
I rushed out and did a 'power walk' to school,
climb that crazyalmost45degreesandseemslike10kilometerslong hill,
and rush my way to the busway but i'm late nontheless.
Luckily i saw my friend and she missed that bus too.
She was there on time but did not see the bus.
I guess the bus arrived early today...sigh...
So we have to take another bus there,
and its my very FIRST bus ride(those that i need to pay) in Australia!!!
....WHOA....
*giggles*...so exciting...
P/s:
I'm sosososososo busy...
ssssooooooooo many things to do yet sssooooooooo little time.
